Race Report
Green flag, O’Ward is clear into turn one. Alex Palou sweeps around the outside to take 2nd away. Christian Rasmussen is in the wall behind them as they were four wide and out of room, caution.
Green, Palou looks to the outside of O’Ward into turn one. Several laps later, O’Ward finally clears him to hold the lead via the inside lane.
Lap 52, Alex Palou has a flat right front tire! He heads to the pit lane under green.
Lap 64, the first pit cycle is complete. O’Ward leads Malukas by 5 seconds.
Lap 83, the lap car of Louis Foster is blocking the 2nd place car of David Malukas. Malukas pinches the him into turn one and they touch! Malukas backs it hard into the wall, caution.

Penalty: Foster will serve a pass-through penalty. Ferrucci drops to the rear for a pit lane violation.
Green, O’Ward leads McLaughlin and Palou.
Lap 107, Herta runs the outside in turn one and he has momentum off turn two. Herta looks to the inside of McLaughlin into turn three. Herta takes 2nd away. Power takes over 3rd.
Lap 115, Will Power is on the move. He works around the outside of Herta, Power to 2nd.
Race leader crashes
Lap 127, Pato O’Ward suffers a flat tire while leading! He’s hard in the wall and the caution is out!
Will Power leads the field to the pit lane but he stalls exiting his stall! Newgarden wins the race to the pit exit. Alexander Rossi is handed the race lead as he stays out. Power is now trapped a lap down after failing to beat the pace car to the pit exit.
Penalty: Colton Herta drops to the rear for an unsafe release on pit lane.
Green, Rossi leads Newgarden.
Lap 147, Newgarden has a run on Rossi into turn three. He dives inside and the crowd erupts as Newgarden takes the lead.
45 to go
45 to go, Newgarden leads McLaughlin by 1.9 seconds.
33 to go, Palou cycles to the race lead after pitting several laps earlier than the leaders but he now has older tires than the rest of the leaders. McLaughlin trails by 1.6 seconds.
28 to go, Palou works heavy lap traffic. McLaughlin has closed to within two car lengths. Newgarden is closing on both of them.
26 to go, McLaughlin looks to the outside of Palou off turn two. McLaughlin takes the lead!
25 to go, Newgarden dives inside of Palou. Newgarden to 2nd. McLaughlin leads Newgarden by 1 second.
21 to go, Scott McLaughlin wiggles into turn one! He chases it up the track and brushes the wall! Newgarden is handed the lead and the caution is out.
Green with 12 to go, Newgarden leads as Palou takes 2nd away from McLaughlin.
