Watch the video as the NASCAR driver slams the wall on lap 4 at Iowa Speedway
Today, the NASCAR Cup Series is racing in Newton, Iowa. The 7/8-mile of Iowa Speedway just dropped the green flag moments ago.
On lap 4 of 350, Tyler Reddick drove to the bottom in turn one. The backend stepped out and he was forced to chase it up the track.
Erik Jones was collected as he went up the banking. They both slammed the outside wall.
For Reddick, he went nose first into the outside wall. He’s likely done for the day.

Reddick opened the season winning the first three races. However, he’s struggled in recent weeks and now finds himself free falling down the standings.

Tyler Reddick comments
“It was a bit uncharacteristic for sure,” Tyler Reddick told USA.
“I hate it for my team, Erik Jones and everybody at Legacy. They needed a strong day, not ideal.”
“If I’m going to take myself out, that’s one thing. But, I took out a fellow Toyota teammate that needed to have a good day.”
“100% that’s on me. That’s something I usually don’t do is make those kinds of mistakes. Very disappointed.”
“We had signs of that, run one in practice. In run two, our qualifier car was much better. Gut wrenching on a lot of levels.”
“I thought we kinda figured out what we needed to do for the race and just made a killer mistake early.”
The race is currently underway.
