On Saturday, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series drivers raced on the half-mile of Florence Speedway. The track is located in Northern Kentucky.
It’s the finale of the three-day North/South 100. Tonight’s feature winner will be handed a check for $75,000.
A caution with 90 laps to go in the 100 lap race setup a restart. Dan Ebert broke a driveshaft right at the drop of the green flag.
He was on the front row when it broke. The entire field came into the scene on the gas.
Brandon Sheppard was pushed into the scene. His car was lifted off the track and into the air. He came to a rest on top of Mike Marlar.
Max Blair was also lifted off the ground. He came to a rest on top of Shannon Babb.
All drivers were okay after the crash.
“Something broke in the driveline. Hate it for the field,” Dan Ebert told FloRacing.
“I thought I was flipping over there for a minute. I’m just going to not say anything so I don’t say something to hurt somebody’s feelings,” Brandon Sheppard stated.
“Took some hard hits but I’m perfectly fine. That car is not,” Bobby Pierce stated.
The cleanup is currently underway. Multiple cars needed two hooks to be carried off the track.
