“I wish it had healed a little quicker than this.”
Last weekend, NASCAR Cup Series drivers Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar got into a fight after the race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Leading up to this, multiple NASCAR drivers have had issues with Hocevar. Blaney elected to be the first driver to do something about it.
So, he grabbed Hocevar by his suit and intended to have a stern conversation. But, Hocevar immediately responded with a punch. That was followed by a second punch.
After being tackled to the ground in the scrum, Blaney was able to charge back at Hocevar and get in a punch of his own.
All week, there’s been a lot of talk about the fight. Pick your side but the t-shirts are flying off the shelves.
NASCAR elected not to issue a penalty to either driver. They also noted that they didn’t want crew members involved in fights.

This weekend, NASCAR is back at it. They’re racing at the 1.5-mile of Kansas Speedway.

“I wish it had healed a little quicker than this. But, it did not,” Ryan Blaney stated from the media center at Kansas Speedway.
“I would fully understand getting slapped with a penalty if I went over and initiated a punch or something,” Blaney said after NASCAR elected not to issue a penalty.
He added, “I initiated a confrontation, Carson defended himself. I’m glad they didn’t do anything. They just let it simmer. I thought it was the right call.”

Carson Hocevar comments
“We’ve been cool and stuff. I think Ryan is one of the coolest guys in the garage,” Hocevar said at Kansas.
“I didn’t want to hit him, and looking back, I 100 percent see where he wanted to just throw a shove in there and yell. But in the moment you’re not going to see that.”
Hocevar was asked if he regrets.
“I don’t think so,” he clarified.
“My dad is probably the least controversial person I ever met in my life. He’s got a local business so he freaks out if he gets a bad Google review. I texted him and was like, ‘Sorry about that.’ He was proud that I defended myself.”
He added, “If we were racing anywhere lower than second, I think, you know, I maybe look at it differently, but I think Blaney does, too.”
