NASCAR further reduces the rear spoiler for the race at Talladega Superspeedway
For the August race at Daytona, NASCAR brought a new package to Daytona International Speedway. The new package was designed to reduce drag. It was expected to allow drivers to pull out of line and build runs.
Daytona Results: August 23, 2025 (NASCAR Cup Series)
Rule changes for Daytona: The rear spoiler was trimmed from 7 inches to 4. Horsepower was reduced from 510 to 465. Aero changes included wide splitter stuffers, updated spoiler braces, and a redesigned spoiler deflection device.
Now, NASCAR is set to head to Talladega Superspeedway on October 25th.
On Wednesday, NASCAR issued a new memo to teams regarding rules changes for the upcoming race at Talladega Superspeedway.
More changes ahead of Talladega: Instead of the 4 inch spoiler that was used at Daytona, the spoiler will be reduced further to just 3.5 inches.
NASCAR has also discussed adjusting stage lengths for races on Superspeedway tracks. However, for the upcoming race at Talladega the stages will remain the same ending on laps 98, 143 and 188.
