“What do you mean settle down!?”
NASCAR drivers Shane van Gisbergen and Austin Hill have been building a feud this season. It started back in June when Austin Hill crashed while racing SVG for the lead in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series race at Naval Base Coronado.
There has been several incidents during NASCAR Cup Series competition since then.
In July, SVG ran into the bumper of Austin Hill at Chicagoland and sent him hard into the wall. Austin Hill stated, “Just wait.” He then ran into SVG under the caution after the incident.

At this point, NASCAR stepped in.
NASCAR is talking to SVG and Hill
But, it’s not going away. Last weekend, they ran into each other yet again during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway.
In stage two, Shane van Gisbergen slid Austin Hill for 26th. Hill had momentum off turn two as he rolled the top lane.
SVG closed the lane exiting the corner. They made contact and Hill brushed the outside wall.

Hill’s spotter Derek Kneeland jumped on the radio, “Settle down. All good here.”
Austin Hill was quick to the button, “What do you mean settle down!?”
Kneeland: “You can’t keep racing each other like this every week. We’re going to have destroyed cars and no finishes. Whether he’s being the (expletive) or we are, we have got to be able to finish. We’re decent, I know this run’s went to (expletive), but we’ve got to get it back together here. Just keep it together.”
Hill responded, “I don’t want to hear it! Honestly, I really don’t want to frickin’ hear from you! Just spot.”
Kneeland added, “10-4. Be ready just in case guys, because the right rear’s killed. Balance update when you get a chance.”
