Haas Factory Team expands ahead of the 2027 NASCAR season

The Haas Factory Team will expand to three cars in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series

Dean Thompson is set to join the Haas Factory Team in 2027. He will drive a third full-time entry for the team in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series.

The 24-year-old driver is currently in his second full-time season in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. In 57 career starts, he’s collected one top-5.

Thompson currently drives for Sam Hunt Racing.

The ride for 2027 will have sponsorship from Thompson Pipe Group and MCM Transportation. Both sponsors have previously worked with Thompson.

The team has a technical alliance with Hendrick Motorsports. They currently field two full-time entries in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series and one in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The car number and crew chief will be announced at a later date.

“We’re excited to welcome Dean to Haas Factory Team.  He has shown strong progression throughout his time in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and we believe he will compete at the highest level,” said Joe Custer, President of Haas Factory Team via the team release.

“Along with our growing affiliate program, the addition of a third full-time entry continues to strengthen our organization.”

Thompson has a total of ten top-10 runs in his NASCAR O’Reilly Series career.

“I am looking forward to competing for wins and a championship with support from MCM Transportation and Thompson Pipe Group.”

Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer currently races full-time for the Haas Factory Team in 2026.
