Hendrick Motorsports and the Haas Factory Team enter a new technical alliance
The Haas Factory Team will make the switch from Ford to Chevrolet starting with the 2026 season. The team currently runs Ford bodies and engines in the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series.
They will also have a new technical alliance with Hendrick Motorsports. HMS will provide engines in the Cup Series as well as the Xfinity Series.
Gene Haas started the team back in 2002 and make his debut with Chevrolet. That partnership continued until 2016 before they made the switch to Ford.
Haas has also announced their drivers roster for the 2026 season. Cole Custer (No. 41) will continue to field the teams only entry in the NASCAR Cup Series. Sheldon Creed (No. 00) and Sam Mayer (NO. 41) will also return in 2026.
Joe Custer comments
“First and foremost, we want to thank Ford for its partnership. Their support allowed us to establish Haas Factory Team and we remain dedicated to delivering results for them in Cup and Xfinity all the way through the season finale in Phoenix,” said Joe Custer, president, Haas Factory Team via the team release.
Gene Haas comments
“Personally, I have a long history with Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports,” Haas said.
“Both helped in establishing not only my presence as a team owner in NASCAR, but also the presence of Haas Automation. Together, we were able to build a race team that competed for wins and championships while growing the use of Haas CNC machinery throughout the racing and manufacturing industries.”
Rick Hendrick comments
“We have a long history with Gene and his organization, including winning championships together, so this feels almost like a homecoming,” said Rick Hendrick, owner, Hendrick Motorsports.
“Our relationship started many years ago with Haas CNC machines in our facilities, and I’ve always admired the passion that he and Joe Custer have for the sport and their desire to win. We’re proud to support Haas Factory Team and thrilled to work together to deliver more victories for Chevrolet.”
The Haas Factory Team was formerly known as Stewart-Haas Racing until Tony Stewart sold his portion of the team and left NASCAR.
