Night six of GA-FL Speedweeks; East Bay Raceway Park hosts the LOLMDS

Tonight, it’s another night of racing at East Bay Raceway Park. The stakes are set at $7,000 to win for the national dirt late model tour.

Qualifying – Report

Scott Bloomquist has been suspended ahead of tonight’s race. He had another driver pilot his machine during the A-Main on Tuesday night.

The starting pay has been taken away from that night. He’s also been fined and will not be allowed to compete tonight.

Mike Benedum is quickest in group A and overall. Brian Shirley is quickest in group B.

Heat 1 – Report

Mike Benedum and Jason Jameson set the front row for the first heat race of the night. Green, they run side by side through turn one. They bang fenders and fight for space.

Jameson carries the high side momentum down the back. He noses ahead into turn three. Hudson O’Neal has a run on the inside of Benedum. He takes 2nd.

Benedum is sideways off turn four as he still struggles to get balanced. Bronson slips through.

Bronson takes 2nd for Hudson O’Neal. He’s on the back bumper of the leader.

Lap 8, Bronson looks inside of Jameson. They run even down the back and Bronson takes the lead into turn three.

Kyle Bronson wins the first heat race of the night!

Heat 2 – Report

Tyler Erb and Allen Murray lead them to the line in heat race number two. Green, Tyler Erb leads.

Shannon Buckingham drives through the middle. They run 3 wide for 2nd. They all bang fenders.

Ryan King holds 2nd. Tyler Erb opens a gap. He drives away.

Heat 3 – Report

Stormy Scott and Tim McCreadie trail the pace truck in heat three. Green, Scott noses ahead on the bottom. McCreadie runs the cushion.

Back into turn one, McCreadie looks to his inside. He pulls to his number but can’t get the power down off the corner.

McCreadie maintains the gap but can’t close. Moran runs 3rd.

Scott takes the win in heat three!

Heat 4 – Report

Brian Shirley and Earl Pearson Jr set row one in heat four. Green, Pearson leads Shirley into turn one.

Shirley drives it deep into turn three to defend 2nd. Satterlee picks up a spot around the top.

Pearson opens the gap in a hurry. He drives off to win heat four!

Heat 5 – Report

Jonathan Davenport and Josh Richards were set to lead them to the starting line in heat five. Richards is a scratch. Green, Davenport leads Gilpin.

Billy Moyer has lost power. He refires but the caution is out.

Green, Justin Williams sees opportunity through the center. Ge forces his way through with fenders rubbing on both sides.

They’re out of room off turn two. Gilpin is around and the caution is back out.

Green, Davenport leads. Williams runs three wide again and takes 2nd. Billy Moyer is on the charge though. He comes from the back to claim 2nd.

Davenport is a full straight away ahead. He wins heat five!

Heat 6 – Report

Tanner English and Vic Hill line up first in the final heat race of the night. They’re rubbing fenders before the green.

Green, English leads into turn one. Bagley follows him through on the bottom to take 2nd.

Lap 2, Bagley has a run on English. He looks to the bottom in turn three. Caution, spin behind them.

Green, English opens a gap. They run single file around the bottom.

Tanner English wins the final heat race of the night

Main Event – Report

Kyle Bronson and Earl Pearson Jr will lead them to the start. It’s another 40 lap race paying $7,000 to win.

Josh Richards has unloaded the backup. He’ll start at the tail of the field. Satterlee heads to the pit area before the green. He’s back out.

Green flag, Bronson leads into turn one. They run three wide for 2nd.

Lap 2, Jameson is sideways off turn two. That bunches up the field behind him. They run four wide all the way through turns three and four.

Tyler Erb claims 2nd. He’s on the bumper of Bronson. Bronson misses the entry to turn three and jumps the cushion. Tyler Erb is on the brakes behind him.

Back in turn one, Bronson stays high. Tyler Erb heads for the bottom. They run side by side off turn two. Erb is clear into turn three.

Lap 10, Hudson O’Neal is around in turn three. The caution is out.

Green, Tyler Erb holds the lead. Pearson is putting pressure on Bronson for 2nd.

Lap 15, Don O’Neal is slow. The caution is out.

Green, Brian Shirley is around in turn one. The caution is out. As Shirley rolls around the track backwards to turn around, Tanner English is rolling the bottom. English jumps on the brakes and four wheel slides to avoid nose to nose contact under caution.

Green, three wide for 2nd. Pearson on the bottom, Davenport in the middle and Bronson on the top. Pearson wins that race to turn three.

Ryan King is slow behind them. The yellow flag returns.

Green, Erb leads. He opens the gap to 4 car lengths.

Erb and Pearson run nose to tail around the bottom. Pearson has evaporated the gap. Caution.

Green, Erb and Pearson remain on the bottom. Bronson is looking for speed on the cushion. He bails, as he tries to get to the bottom Hubbard gets into his left rear. Three cars get by Bronson in turn three.

Lap 31, Erb and Pearson have checked out. Lap 32, Shirley is slow and the caution is out.

Green, Austin Hubbard is on the gas around the top. He comes off turn two in 2nd. Pearson reclaims that position in turn three.

Lap 34, caution for debris.

Green, Davenport heads for the cushion. Move him to 2nd off turn two! He’s putting pressure on Erb for the lead.

Lap 36, Erb heads for the top in turn three. That surprises Davenport. He cant get on the brakes quick enough. He gets into the back if Erb and Davenport catches the fence. He spins and the yellow is out.

Green, Hudson O’Neal has found speed on the top. He quickly takes 2nd.

Tyler Erb isn’t sure what lane to pick. Pearson works under him in turn one! Hudson O’Neal is on the gas around the top. Three wide for the lead!

Hudson O’Neal tags the wall in turn three. Pearson pulls even with him.

They’re side by side at the line coming to one to go. Pearson noses ahead on the entry. Hudson O’Neal carries momentum off the top.

They’re side by side off turn four! A drag race to the line. Hudson O’Neal wins by inches at East Bay Raceway Park!
