Thursday’s program will see the field split into two groups. The night will conclude with a pair of A Mains paying $10,000 each.
Duel 1
Main Event – Report
Scott Bloomquist and Michael Norris set the front row for the first of two 30-lap main events on the night. The winner of this one will return to the pits with the first of two $10,000 checks.
Green flag, Bloomquist leads into turn one. Norris jumps the cushion in turn two but holds 2nd.
Lap 2, Richards throws it deep on his teammate in turn one. They run side by side off turn two and Richards takes 2nd into turn three.
Lap 5, Sheppard is all over Richards for 2nd. He was looking for a way by on the top and now he drops to the bottom. Richards opens a gap of two car lengths.
Lap 14, Bloomquist world heavy lap traffic. He leads by 15 car lengths.
Lap 24, Sheppard looks to the inside of Richards into turn one. Sheppard’s is forced to check up. Bloomquist slices through lap traffic ahead. Sheppard heads back to the top.
Scott Bloomquist drives off to win the first main event of the weekend!
Duel 2
Main Event – Report
Mike Marlar and Ricky Weiss trail the pace truck ahead of main event number two. The winner of this dirt late model main event will also pocket $10,000
Green flag, Marlar noses ahead on the bottom. Weiss hangs onto his right rear.
Marlar moves off the bottom at the exit of turn two. Weiss nearly catches the wall with his right rear but he holds 2nd.
Lap 3, Davenport is running the top and looking to take 2nd. He takes the spot and sets sights on the leader.
Lap 5, Davenport to the lead on the top.
Lap 12, Davenport leads Weiss by five car lengths. Davenport remains on the top as Weiss rolls the bottom.
Lap 22, Davenport works heavy lap traffic. Weiss has begun to close.
Lap 24, Chase Junghans gets to the right rear of Weiss and takes 2nd.
Pierce is knocking the wall down just behind them. Pierce has been putting on a show as he’s run them down from a whole straight away back.
2 to go, Davenport, Junghans and Pierce run nose to tail.
1 to go, Pierce knocks the wall hard in turn one. He thinks about crossing Junghans on the exit of turn two but lifts and stays on the outside heading into turn three.
Junghans can’t get alongside the leader. Pierce is all over him for 2nd. Pierce gets sideways off turn four.
Davenport holds them off to win feature number two at Mansfield Motor Speedway!
