The Sonoma pole sitter speaks with Fox Sports, “The whole lap actually felt pretty bad. I messed up into 1, into 2. I was out a little bit too far. I felt like I gave up enough there that I wouldn’t have a shot at the pole. I thought maybe I’d maintain and run the same lap time as the run previous. So, I was surprised.”
Kyle Larson is going to celebrate the pole by going to a dirt track, “This is cool to get a pole on a road course. Home state, this is my closest track to Sacramento or Elk Grove, where I grew up. Lots of friends and family here. Gunna go celebrate with the team, then head over to Calistoga. Go watch some sprint car racing.
