A Toyota won again on Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway. They’ve won 7 of the last 10 NASCAR Cup Series races.

“I got on a bike and road 40 miles with Jimmie [Johnson], which is a terrible idea. So, I missed the whole [Toyota] debate,” Dale Earnhardt Jr stated from the press room at Chicagoland Speedway.
“From my point of view, I just look at the board. Watching the times, I see Ford’s and Toyota’s up there in the top 10. I don’t see just one manufacture.”
“I think Joe Gibbs and that whole organization have done an incredible job of getting 4 teams to work very closely together. I’ve never seen it done any better. One organization has 4 cars that seem almost equal, every week.”
“They live it. So, they might not see it that way. From outside, it’s really impressive. It’s more than just manufactures. You gotta look at how Joe and those guys run their business, how they build their cars. What’s the process they take when they build a car from start to finish, from the ground up.”
“It took awhile. But, it’s got harmony across the board for all the teams. They have a great way of sort of cultivating their talent. The crew chiefs, engineers, all that.”
What can NASCAR do?
“But when I look at the board I see Ford’s and Toyota’s running up top. I don’t think there is anything they can do. We all sorta have the same rules to live by. So, all the cars should be pretty close.”
“We could complain. But, Kyle Larson runs to good for all the Chevy’s too complain. If Kyle Larson wouldn’t run so damn good then we’d have an argument.”
Kyle Larson has won 2 races in his last 5 starts.
“They’ve been working on how they build cars, together. All the teams work together. Over the last couple years we’ve sorta noticed their method to their operation.”
