It wasn’t a fight — Call it a passive aggressive conversation with some touching
Kevin Harvick and Ryan Blaney ran into each other multiple times at Martinsville Speedway. Kevin Harvick stated in a post race interview, “I didn’t like the cheap shots, the brake checks and the hittin’ down the straight-away.”

Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott were not the only drivers to have a post-race conversation. Kevin Harvick and Ryan Blaney had one as well. The conversation ended with a passive tap to the stomach. Ryan Blaney then gave a passive push back at Harvick walked away.
It wasn’t a fight as many have reported. However, Kevin Harvick turned around thinking a different guy bumped into him. With his back turned, he wasn’t aware that Blaney extended his arm, quickly in his direction. It wasn’t a punch, I don’t know what you call it.

“That’s what it’s all about,” Kevin Harvick tells NBC after the race at Martinsville Speedway.
“It’s championship time, it’s time to get physical. I really wanna [thank] all my guys at Stewart-Haas Racing. They built this car in two weeks.”
Bent fenders, hurt feelings — I love it!

“We were way more competitive than we were in the Spring. Bent fenders, hurt feelings — I love it.”
“Yeah, I just told him. I said, ‘Look if you’re going to park it at Martinsville, you’re gunna get hit. He didn’t like gettin’ hit,” Kevin Harvick speaks on on-track confrontations with Ryan Blaney.
“You know, I didn’t like the cheap shots, the brake checks and the hittin’ down the straight-away. It’s like I told him, ‘If you wanna race hard and you wanna run into me after I pass you, that’s fine. But, slammin’ me down the straight-away and brake checkin’ me is another thing.’ That’s the easy way to race.”
Ryan Blaney
“We just talked about how the race was and what we can do to avoid that next time,” Ryan Blaney comments on his conversation with Kevin Harvick.
“We got outta here with a halfway decent day. We’ll go on to Texas.”
Kevin Harvick and Ryan Blaney are both in a fight for the NASCAR championship. Kevin Harvick is 4th in points, Blaney is 6th. The top 4 advance.
