Two weeks ago, Denny Hamlin put the bumper to Chase Elliott at Martinsville. The two then climbed from their cars as the crowd erupted with excitement.

Today, NASCAR goes short track racing at Phoenix Raceway. Denny Hamlin will start 2nd and Chase Elliott starts 4th. They will head nose to tail into turn 1.

Is Denny Hamlin worried about retaliation at Phoenix?

“Was I worried last weekend?,” Denny Hamlin responds with a smile and a question of his own at the Phoenix Raceway media center.

“No,” he answers his own question. “And I’m not worried this weekend.”

“I’m not worried,” Hamlin continued. “Everyone up front is professionals and we all have the one job to do. That’s to win.”

“our objective is the same objective of his. It’s to go out there and win. You really can’t worry about other guys.”

“If you’ve got that in front of you and you’re thinking about that then your chances of winning are slim to none.”
