They suspended a dirt modified in the air. The car hung from cables and was slowly dropped to celebrate the New Year!

Beyond the race car drop, the event also had ice sculptures on display. Other area racers also brought their cars to town to put them on display for the fans.

Drake Troutmans supplied the car used for the race car drop. He finished 4th in track championship points this year at Bedford Speedway.

The car was dropped a little early in the night. Instead of dropping it at midnight they elected to drop it a 7PM local time.

That early drop was due to the cold weather. It was 9 degree’s in Bedford, PA last night.

The race car drop was sponsored by: Downtown Bedford, Inc., Thomas Cumberland, Bakers Body Center, Troy Swindell Trucking, Queen City Fruit & Produce and Interstate Emergency Service!
