Clint Bowyer was a walking party after his NASCAR win

Clint Bowyer: “We’re gunna be The Clampetts with our trophy strapped to the roof.”

Martinsville is a track that Clint Bowyer has been seen regularly at the front. Ahead of yesterday’s start, Bowyer had five top-5 finishes at the paperclip. However, he’s never closed the deal.

He’s gone out trying. 3 wide on the final restart, he brought back the steering wheel in attempts.

Yet, on Monday it wasn’t anything like that. It wasn’t a move of desperation to break a 190 race winless streak. Clint Bowyer dominated the field and cruised to victory over Kyle Busch.

The first thing he did was approach the catch fence that separates the fans from the racing surface. He was looking for a beer. The fans didn’t help but Bowyer later found a few in victory lane.

From there, he made it to the media center where he came in like a wrecking ball.

“I’m just tellin’ ya, it meant a lot to me to be able put it all together at this track,” Clint Bowyer says from the Martinsville media center.

“It’s one that I feel that I’ve lost, way more than I’ve ever gained here. I wanted that damn clock.”

Clint Bowyer has a sudden realization that the very large trophy might not fit in the truck, “How are we going to get it home?”

“I’m gunna ratchet snap it to my wife’s SUV. We’re gunna be The Clampetts with our trophy strapped to the roof. But, it’s coming home!”

The Clampetts reference is from The Beverly Hillbillies. The movie features a backwoods family who move to posh Beverly Hills, California.

Is there a party tonight?

“I was thinking about going to bed… That was a lie.”

“I’m going to the hospital. That would be a safer measure for me. Right now, jump in whatever ambulance is still here and beg them to take me to the hospital.”

“Thank god there’s an off weekend. That’s the thing, somehow we gotta get wrangled back up and go to Texas.”

“This is good times. This is fun to be in this equipment. I appreciate this opportunity. It’s hard to say. Everybody that knows me, knows that I have fun and run my mouth, goofy and everything else. But, I do appreciate this opportunity.”

Last night, Clint Bowyer and crew didn’t install any ass tattoo’s. However, they did find some moonshine and spit it into a ball of flames.
