Chase Elliott accomplished a lot in a single week; Joins short list previously occupied by only Kyle Busch
The NASCAR Truck Series was born in 1995. Since then, only eight times has a driver won a NASCAR Truck Series event and a NASCAR Cup Series event in the same week.
Seven of those times, it was done by Kyle Busch. In fact, until Sunday, Kyle Busch was the only one to do it.
Chase Elliott has broken Kyle Busch’s streak of Truck/Cup victories, adding his own name to the list following two wins at Charlotte Motor Speedway this week.
The driver entered the NTS event in the GMS Racing No. 24 truck. That was solely because Kevin Harvick placed a $50,000 bounty on Kyle Busch leading into the event. The CEO of Gardner Outdoors, doubled it, raising the bounty to $100,000.
Elliott claimed the bounty and broke several streaks. One, Busch hadn’t lost a truck series event since 2018. As he finished 2nd to Elliott, that streak came to an end.
But, that’s not the only streak he ended…
