NASCAR Xfinity results from Michigan International Speedway

Today, the NASCAR Xfinity Series takes the green flag in Brooklyn, MI. The 2-mile oval of Michigan International Speedway is set to host the New Holland 250.

Track officials have installed a lane of resin on the high side of the track. The sticky lane is heat activated and should provide help for drivers in the outside lane.

Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 30 (1-30 / 125)

Green flag, they run even into turn one. Cindric gets loose on the bottom and Allmendinger leads off turn two. Ty Gibbs jumps from 10th to 2nd as he rolls through the treated section of the track.

Lap 15, Allmendinger leads Gibbs by 1.2 seconds.

Lap 16, the competition caution is out. Allmendinger and Justin Haley line up on the front row.

Green, Gibbs jumps to the outside as Allgaier misses a sjift, Cindric rolls through the middle. Four wide for the lead into turn one! Cindric and Gibbs sweep by the front row and run side by side into turn one. Cindric wins the battle via the inside lane and leads off turn two.

Lap 21, Caesar Bacarella spins, backs it into the fence and the caution is out.

Pit Penalty: Justin Allgaier and Bubba Wallace will go to the tail of the field following a pit road penalty.

Green, Cindric gets a push from Gibbs into turn one.

Austin Cindric opens the gap and wins stage 1 at MIS!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 30 (31-60 / 125)

The leaders hit the pit lane. Cindric wins the race to the pit exit. Slow exit for Gibbs as he’s off 5th. Cindric restarts 8th. Jeb Burton and Tommy Joe Martins lead them to the restart. Sam Mayer pulls to the garage with a transmission issue.

Green flag on stage two, Burton throws a block on Tommy Joe Martins into turn one.

Myatt Snider gets loose under Cindric off turn two. Cindric slams the wall as Snider spins across the track and many others are collected. Bubba Wallace, Justin Haley and Daniel Hemric also pick up heavy damage. The caution is out.

Green, Jeb Burton is clear into turn one. Allgaier takes them three wide for 2nd and Allgaier takes that spot.

Lap 48, Allmendinger works inside of Allgaier off turn four. He clears him before turn one, Allmendinger to 2nd.

Lap 51, Allgaier works inside of Allmendinger but he gets loose on the bottom into turn one. Allgaier falls to 4th.

Lap 54, Allmendinger has a run on Jeb Burton off turn four. He sidedrafts and clears him before turn one. Burton throws a block on Ty Gibbs but Gibbs works by anyway to take 2nd away.

AJ Allmendinger wins stage two at Michigan International Speedway!

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 65 (61-125 / 125)

The leaders hit the pit lane. Gibbs gets blocked into his pit stall. He’s forced to back up and he’s lost a ton of time. Allmendinger wins the race to pit exit.

Green flag on stage three, Jen Burton side drafts Allmendinger into turn one but Allmendinger wins the battle on the outside. Three wide for 2nd behind him, Allgaier takes that spot via the outside lane.

Lap 74, Harrison Burton hits the pit lane under green with a loose wheel.

42 to go, Allgaier has climbed to the bumper of Allmendinger in the battle for the lead. As they approach lap traffic, Josh Berry closes on both of them.

39 to go, Allgaier has a run on Allmendinger off turn four. He looks inside into turn one but can’t drive it deep enough. As they run side by side and fight for space with lap traffic ahead, Josh Berry builds speed around the top. Berry drives right by both of them off turn two. Josh Berry leads!

35 to go, Allgaier crosses under Allmendinger off turn two and slides him in turn three to take 2nd away.

27 to go, Josh Berry struggles to lap Harrison Burton.

21 to go

21 to go, Gragson is the first car to the pit lane under green.

18 to go, Ty Gibbs and other pit.

17 to go, Berry pits from the race lead.

Pit Penalty: Jeremy Clements has been hit with an uncontrolled tire penalty.

15 to go, Allgaier hits the pit lane. The team calls for fuel only!

13 to go, Jeb Burton is out of fuel in turn one. He’s coasting all the way around the track.

12 to go, Allgaier leads Berry by 1 second. Berry is much faster on newer tires.

11 to go, Berry is on the bumper of Allgaier. They race three wide through lap traffic.

10 to go, Allgaier pinches him into turn one, Berry gets loose and Allgaier holds the lead. Caution as Burton fails to coast back to the pit lane.

Allgaier hits the pit lane for tires. Only a handful come with him. After the pit stop, Allgaier will still restart on the 2nd row, inside following the choose cone.

Green, Berry and Allgaier run side by side. Allmendinger noses ahead with a push from Allgaier. Berry fights back with outside momentum off turn two, Berry holds the lead! Allgaier falls outside the top 5 as he gets loose.

Berry gets loose. Allmendinger has a run and he dives to the inside in turn one to take the lead.

4 to go, several cars tangle mid-pack off turn two and the caution is out.

Overtime

Green, Brandon Jones pushes Allmendinger clear into turn one one on the outside.

Caution, Mason Massey is stalled on the track after contact with the front stretch wall and the caution is back out.

Green, Allmendinger and Berry run side by side at the launch. Side by side into turn one, Allmendingerholds him off via the outside lane.

Ty Gibbs spins on his own off the highside of turn two! He clips the wall and the caution is out.

1 to go, Allmendinger leads Jones by a car length. Jones runs the high side in turn one as Allmendinger runs the middle.
