Race Report

Laps: 80

Green flag, Heim leads on the inside line into turn one. The top four form single file by the exit of turn two.

Lap 4, the top four cars are breaking away. They run three wide just outside the top 10.

Lap 12, Toni Breidinger gets a bump from Christian Rose into turn three. He gets shoved out of line but saves it, no caution.

Lap 20, the top 7 cars have broken away from the field. They remain single file around the inside lane.

Lap 22, Eric Caudell spins off turn four. He slides through the grass and the caution is out.

Heim heads for the pit lane. He’ll restart in 6th after a mix of pit strategy. Sean Corr and Mason Diaz take over the front row.

Green, Corr leads on the inside lane. Heim leads a charge on the outside lane off turn two. Heim clears him and returns to the lead into turn three.

Penalty: Nick Snachez has been penalized after he was three wide on the outside, before the green. He’ll serve a pass through penalty.

Halfway break

Lap 41, the competition caution is out.

Green, Heim launches from the outside lane. He clears Parker Chase and drops to the inside as they roll into turn one.

Lap 46, Daniel Dye is trying to make the outside lane work. He sidedrafts hard on the inside lane for 3rd and he’s making progress.

Lap 50, Jason Kitzmiller gets turned off turn two and the caution is out.

Gus Dean is getting pushed by Dave Mader III after the caution is out. He pushes him through the middle three wide! They run out of room between Greg Van Alst. Several of the leaders pick up heavy damage.

Green, Heim leads Chase into turn one.

24 to go

24 to go, caution for debris.

Green, Heim leads Chase once more as the top five on the inside clear the outside lane in a hurry.

14 to go, the top 8 cars have broken away from the field and run single file around the inside lane.

8 to go, Daniel Dye leads a second group of cars and they’re closing on the front pack. Dye leads the lane to the outside lane. Dye climbs to 6th before dropping to the inside lane.

5 to go, car stalled off turn four, caution.

Green, Heim gets the jump on the outside lane. He’s clear into turn one. Sean Corr pinches Toni Breidinger and forces a hole on the inside lane. Drew Dollar gets shoves out of line off turn two and slams the outside wall, no caution.

Corey Heim holds them off to win at Daytona International Speedway!
