Another new NASCAR team is set to join the grid
Team Strange Racing is set to join the NASCAR Cup Series. They become the latest in a long list of new entries for the 2022 season.
As of now, the team has an 8 race schedule set for their 2022 campaign.
Brazilian veteran Tarso Marques has been signed as the driver. He’ll pilot the No. 79 Ford.
The team has a stock car racing history. They previously ran an ARCA Menards Series entry with a career best of 5th back in 2016 with Frank Kimmel at the wheel.
The team opened their doors in 2012. It’s owned by businessman John Stange, Jr. and Leap Brands, Inc.
Marques is a former F1 driver with 24 career starts in the series, most recently in 2001. He also has history in the Champ Car Series. However, at age 46, NASCAR is a new venture for the driver.
The team has picked up backing from blockchain company DignityGold and the DIGau token. Team Strange Racing is based out of the Chicago area.
The No. 79 will make it’s debut on July 3, 2022 at Road America.
