20 drivers are already locked into the All-Star race. 16 other drivers will run the All-Star Open for a chance at joining the All-Star race.

The All-Star Open is a 50 lap race with three stages. The winner of each stage advances into the All-Star Race.

Additionally, one driver who hasn’t already advanced will join the tail with the All-Star Fan Vote.

Qualifying will take place over two rounds of with the first being single-lap runs. The top 8 will advance into round two, where things are a bit different.

Elimination Bracket: Two cars will be placed at the end of the pit lane. At the sound of a horn, crews will make a four tire pit stop. Drivers exit their stalls and race down the pit lane with no speed limit. The first car back to the start finish line wins that bracket and advances into the next round. The final pairing will be the pole bracket.

All-Star Race (Format)

The main event is a 125-lap dash split into four stages:

Stage 1 (25 laps): Stage 1 winner will start on the pole in the final stage but he has to finish 15th or better in Stages 2 and 3.

Stage 2 (25 laps): Stage 2 winner starts second in the final stage but he has to finish 15th or better in Stage 3.

Special Stage Break (Pit-Stop Competition): Each team must pit and perform a four-tire stop. The team with the fastest stop will start 3rd in the final stage but he has to finish 15th or better in Stage 3.

Stage 3 (25 laps): Stage 3 winner starts third in the final stage.

Stage 4 (50 laps): If a “natural” caution occurs between laps 15-25 of the final stage, standard race procedures will be in effect. If no “natural” caution occurs during that time, NASCAR will call an “All-Star” competition caution. Winner of Stage 4 wins the race and earns $1 million.
