On lap 39, Josh Reaume lost the rear under braking. As the truck stepped out, he backed it hard into the outside wall.

Rajah Caruth wasn’t aware of the accident ahead. He locked up the brakes, spun his truck sideways and slammed into the parked truck of Reaume.

The rear decklid of Reaume’s truck was completely knocked out. The No. 43 truck was removed from the track on a hook.

The AMR safety team was on the scene quickly. They appeared to be helping Reaume from his machine after the crash.

“Uh, we’re wrecked. I slid into him. Why didn’t you say anything,” Caruth stated over the team radio moments after the crash.

“I never heard you,” Caruth added. Another crew member jumped in, “I never heard you either.”

The spotter responded, “Well, then my push to talk’s not working because I told him, ‘Woah, Woah, Woah, slow down, wrecking ahead.’ “

Following the crash, Reaume was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
