Many drivers were struggling with grip on Saturday. He saw it in NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying, where many drivers spun out. It’s unclear what was causing grip issues.

During Bubba Wallace’s run, the drivers was tracking toward the pole position. However, as he exited turn four on his qualifying lap, he got loose.

Wallace corrected and was able to spin it across the infield grass. The car picked up no damage.

Yet, as he spun across the infield, the crowd erupted. The racing fans of Nashville, Tennessee were a big fan of the No. 23 drivers spinning out.

In the tv broadcast, the crowd noise was loud enough to spark a debate. Fans questioned if NBC pumped the audio of the crowd reaction.

However, in audio captured from fans in the stands, the reaction was the same.

Daniel Suarez also advanced into round two of qualifying. He also spun out, in that case, Suarez spun as he came to take the green flag for his timed lap. As Suarez spun, the crowd was silent.

Corey LaJoie also spun in the first round of qualifying. For that spin, there was also no reaction from the crowd.

Despite the spin, Wallace will still start from the 9th position. The driver was able to keep it out of the wall. Without damage, the team won’t need to make any repairs, which would have sent the team to the back of the grid.

The race will take place on Sunday night, a primetime showing for the NASCAR Cup Series.
