Christopher Bell reacts to radio outbursts during Homestead race

“Normally, I don’t do that. But yeah, that was frustrating.”

On Sunday, NASCAR raced at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The race with the second of three in the Round of 8, the final elimination round of the NASCAR Playoffs.

In the middle portion of the race, Christopher Bell was close to going a lap down to the leader. The crew got on the radio to make he aware of where the leader was.

Bell responded sarcastically saying, “Okay, I’ll start trying.”

Later in the race, more frustrations boiled over the radio button.

“Well, there it is, they fucked us. Now all of those other jerks that pitted before they announced it already got fuel and tires.”

Yet, the No. 20 team made the correct adjustments. The team got the car rolling once more and Bell climbed back to the lead in stage three.

Bell grabbed the win at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He and Kyle Larson are now locked into the championship race at Phoenix Raceway while six more drivers are battling for the remaining two spots in the championship battle.

Christopher Bell reacts to radio outbursts

“I let me emotions get to me, that’s for sure,” Christopher Bell told Bob Pockrass from victory lane of the radio rant.

“Normally, I don’t do that. But yeah, that was frustrating. It’s no secret that this track has not been my favorite.”

“The first stage, I felt like we were onto something. If we improve [a little] we’re going to have a great day. And, it went the opposite direction in a hurry when we started stage two.”

“I have no idea what adjustments Adam made. It seams like he threw the kitchen sink at it. Because we went from being one of the worst cars on the track to clearly one of the best.”

“They got the magic, Adam and my engineers back at the shop. It was pretty incredible the turn of events that we had today.”

Adam Stevens comments

“It felt like home,” Adam Stevens said.

Stevens formerly worked with Kyle Busch who is known to be vocal over the radio.

“No. Sometimes you let a little bit of emotion come out. Sometimes, you need to.”

“I scream my whole head off sometimes on the box and don’t que the mic. You gotta let it out.”

“He was in a bad spot. We put him in a bad spot. He was driving his pants off.”

“I was just trying to give him information to where the leader was so he didn’t lose sight of it. I didn’t want him to be on our bumper and him be surprised by it.”

“Sometimes you gotta tell them things they don’t want to hear. And, sometimes they’re going to tell you things that maybe you don’t want to hear.”
