Electric NASCAR racecar set to debut during The Clash

NASCAR has developed an electric car; Fans will see it on track for the first time

For several years, NASCAR has been talking about going electric or using hydrogen power. Secretly, they were actually developing such a car.

Images of the electric car leaked last year. The car is a hatchback style machine.

NASCAR recently stated that the car will be on track in some form in 2024. They didn’t say they would race it, just that it would be on track in front of fans.

The car isn’t specific to any manufacturer in it’s current state. Similar to the development of the Next Gen car, the nose and tail features a generic body shape.

It appears that will happen in the very first event. NASCAR’s electric car will be on hand during The Clash at the LA Coliseum.

NASCAR recently hosted a test session with the machine. According to Bob Pockrass, the car did 340 laps at Martinsville Speedway.

The car will turn laps in front of the crowd on Sunday. David Ragan will drive the machine.

NASCAR is still unsure if electric is the final answer. They have noted they are still interested in testing hydrogen power. The car is still in development.
