Two teams from Stewart-Haas Racing had parts confiscated during NASCAR inspection
NASCAR is racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend. The track is one of three superspeedway tracks where aerodynamics are highly prioritized.
On Friday, NASCAR Cup Series teams rolled through inspection in Atlanta, GA. During inspection, NASCAR has confiscated parts from two race teams.
The No. 10 driven by Noah Gragson as well as the No. 41 machine driven by Ryan Preece each had Roof Air Deflectors confiscated. Both cars are fielded by Stewart-Haas Racing.

No penalties have been issued, yet. The parts will be taken to the NASCAR R&D Center in Concord, North Carolina. They will be further evaluated for a possible infraction.
Drivers have yet to touch the track. Qualifying begins on Saturday morning.
The NASCAR Next Gen car is designed to be a spec machine. Each car is suppose to be identical from team to team. Many parts are supplied by a single manufacturer in an effort to level the playing field.
In recent years, NASCAR has drastically increased the penalty for modifying a part. That’s an effort to reduce cheating in the garage area.
Any penalties to the No. 10 or the No. 41 will be announced on Tuesday or Wednesday in the weekly penalty report.
Last season, NASCAR confiscated parts from all four Hendrick Motorsports machines at Phoenix Raceway. It resulted in the largest penalty ever issued to a team.
