Kyle Busch sues Rev Racing over NASCAR agreement

In the lawsuit, the costs of a NASCAR team alliance has been revealed

Rev Racing is a part of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program. The team helps develop both drivers and crew members from diverse backgrounds.

Rev Racing had an alliance with the now defunct Kyle Busch Motorsports. With that alliance, Rev Racing agreed to pay $2.9 million for the alliance.

Alliances are common in NASCAR, specifically for smaller teams. It allows a smaller team to have better data, technology, crew and sometimes even equipment.

In this case, KBM supplied the trucks to Rev Racing.

KBM was sold to Spire Motorsports at the end of the 2023 season. That included the building, all trucks and even the chassis building business.

However, before the sale, Rev Racing still owed the team $325K of the agreed $2.9 million.

The new Spire Motorsports truck team remains in an alliance with Rev Racing. And Kyle Busch will drive a Spire truck in 5 races for 2024 including his win on Saturday.

Kyle Busch Motorsports remains in operation but on a much smaller scale. The team fields dirt cars for Kyle Busch and his son Brexton Busch.
