Alex Bowman removed his seatbelts on the cool down lap at Chicago; Bubba Wallace then ran into him in retaliation
Two weeks ago, Alex Bowman tagged the bumper of Bubba Wallace and turned him around. Bowman went on to win the race on the Chicago Street Course.
On the cool down lap, Bowman was celebrating the win. He had his window net down and supposedly his seatbelts were also loose.
Bubba Wallace came in hot. He ran into Bowman after the finish, putting Bowman into the concrete wall.
NASCAR reacted by issuing a steep $50,000 fine to Wallace for the retaliation. Dale Earnhardt Jr is hot about the situation but not with Wallace, he’s unsure why Bowman would take off his belts in a moving racecar…

Dale Earnhardt Jr can’t believe Alex Bowman took his belts off
“I’m gonna catch so much s**t for this but damn it, it’s what I chose,” Dale Earnhardt Jr. said via Dirty Mo Media.
“Bubba hits Alex and Alex hits the wall, we are at a street course, frickin walls everywhere. He has his window net down and his belts off or his belts loose?”
The co-host stepped in, “I feel like a lot of drivers do that though.”
Jr replied, “No they don’t!”
“Nobody unbuckles before they come to a complete stop in the pits to get the hell out. You’re a complete moron if you undo your belts in a moving race car, at any point. A complete idiot, you gotta stop it.”
“You gotta f**king admit that you’re a dumba if you f**king undo your belts in a moving car, it’s dangerous,” he added.

Dale Earnhardt Jr is in favor of retaliation
Retaliation is nothing new in NASCAR. However, NASCAR has been clamping down on the acts in recent years.
“I do like the old throwback idea that, ‘Man, you know if you piss me off enough, I want to be able to drive up to your car and door you a little bit.’ “
“Drivers need to be able to do those things. And if they want to fine them, that’s fine. I won’t. I don’t care,” Earnhardt Jr. added.
A week prior to the penalty issued to Wallace, NASCAR issues a $50,000 fine and took points away from Carson Hocevar.
“I don’t think the driver’s mind is too much 5, 10, 15 grand. Don’t take points away. Don’t truly deter this. Because this sh** is what racing is about?”
“Now there is a line, there is a line where it’s too egregious, too dangerous, and you gotta know as a driver, where that’s at,” he added.
