NASCAR fined Wallace $50,000 after he retaliated on Alex Bowman
Bubba Wallace has struggled on road courses, throughout his career. As he says, ‘For the last 7 years.’
Yet, last Sunday, Wallace found himself running top 5 late in the race on the Chicago Street Course. However, Alex Bowman drove into the bumper of Wallace and sent him spinning, en route to the tail of the field.
After the race, Bowman ended it heading to victory lane. And as Wallace passed him on the cool down lap, he doored him.

Bubba Wallace comments on the fine from NASCAR
“Penalties, I won’t be the last one to get one,” Bubba Wallace stated at Pocono Raceway.
“We’ll see. You just gotta move on. Sorry to all you guys for being an a******.”
“We restarted 33rd and passed 20 cars. That’s our best [road course finish] yet.”
“The more and more I thought about it. That was the most fun I had at a racetrack, in a long time. It’s like, ‘Hm, you passed a lot of cars, had a lot of fun. How about you have more fun and pass more cars going forward.’ So, we’ll see if that translates over.”
“When things go South and why I retaliate, I now realize, they’re not really going to emphasize on what started it.They emphasize on what finished it.”
“I try not to start too much s***. But, I was just raised to end it. I blame my dad. He is an eye for an eye guy. He’s all about being fair. You punch me in the face, I’ll punch you in the face. And then we shake hands after, we’re even.”
“It only matters about the second punch. Which is kinda b*******. But, it is what it is. You gotta accept it and move on.”
“I told my wife, ‘Hey, we might have to hold off on the baby room. I gotta pay this fine first.’ “
“Harvick said, ‘It could be worse. It could be points, could be a week off.’ $50,000, it stings but that’s why you gotta go race hard this weekend.”
