Parker Kligerman has been disqualified after the win at Daytona International Speedway
On Friday night, Daytona International Speedway hosted the season opener for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
Parker Kligerman drove to the lead on the final lap. After multiple crashes behind him, the caution was thrown and the race was over.

Kligerman picked up the win. He climbed from the truck, collected the checkered flag and then planted it in the infield grass.
Hendrick Motorsports celebrated an stated, “Just want to say “Thank you” for all of the kind messages we’ve received so far. We’re a small team with only one full-time employee and a bunch of part-timers/volunteers who have a genuine love for this sport. Your support makes all of the hard work we put in well worth it.”
It was his first NASCAR Truck Series win since 2022. The fourth win of his career in 118 starts.
However, after the race, trucks undergo a NASCAR inspection from officials. The race winner has failed that inspection.
Kligerman was found to be too low on both sides regarding ride heights in the rear suspension.
Henderson Motorsports commented, “Absolutely heartbreaking. Still was a fun night and a good showing of what this team is capable of. We’ll be back.”
Per the rules, Kligerman has been disqualified. 2nd across the finish line, Corey Heim has been declared the race winner.
The team has the option to appeal the penalty.
Update: Team set to appeal
Shortly after the ruling, Henderson Motorsports posted the following:
“We’ve decided to appeal the disqualification of our #75 Truck from yesterday evening’s NCTS Race at Daytona.”
Appeals of NASCAR penalties are sent to the independent National Motorsports Appeal Panel. Cases are typically heard on the Thursday after the incident.
Update: Parker Kligerman comments
On Saturday morning, Kligerman was on the air as a part of the broadcast team for Xfinity coverage on the CW. Moments into the program he noted the team has a “very valid case” regarding an appeal of the disqualification.
He also stated via X, “Biggest win of my life.”
“Thank you all for the wonderful messages. Over 700 texts I will not be commenting any further until we are able to present what I believe is a very, very valid case.”
“Until then, I’m fully focused on my job with CW Sports and NASCAR Xfinity because the drivers and teams deserve the full focus on the massive stage ahead of them.”
Update: Corey Heim comments
“Well, it’s my first time having this kind of scenario happening either way, so certainly glad to be on the right side of it,” Heim said after being declared the winner. “It sucks for Parker and those guys.”
“It seemed like they put themselves in a position at the right time to win the race, but obviously, there is another level to it after the race. Grateful to be in the spot to take advantage of that.”
