Joey Logano says, “I’m a really bad loser.”
On Sunday, the short track of North Wilkesboro Speedway hosted the NASCAR All-Star Race. There were not points on the line but there was a giant check of $1M going to the winner.
With 20 laps to go, Joey Logano was the leader. However, he was on defense as Christopher Bell was closing in with fresh tires.
With 14 to go, Bell began exploring new lanes. He was searching for a way by.
With 12 to go, Bell dove inside of Logano. In the next corner, Bell went to the outside but Logano pinched him and closed the door.
With 10 to go, Bell dove back to the inside. Logano threw a block but Bell worked inside of him anyway. They rubbed doors for the lead. Bell moved him up the track and took the lead away.
With fresher tires, Bell was now in the lead and driving away. He drove it all the way to victory lane.

Joey Logano critical of the bump from Christopher Bell
Initially after the race, Logano was heated…
“I’m pissed off right now,” Logano told FS1. “Dang it, we had the fastest car.”
“I’m trying to choose my words correctly on the caution situation. Obviously, I’m the one that got bit by it so I’m the one frustrated.”
“I did all I could do to hold him off and he got under me and just released the brake, gave me no option.”
Logano added, “He kind of just ran me up into the wall, and if I could’ve got to him, he was going around after a move like that, I just couldn’t get back to him.”
“Frustrated after you lead so many laps and the cars so fast. You don’t win, it hurts quite a bit.”
Christopher Bell responds to the comments from Logano
“I don’t think that I did anything that Joey has not done,” Christopher Bell responded to the comments from Logano in the media center after the race.
“And, I’ve seen Joey do much worse. So, we will continue on.”

Joey Logano takes back his comments
On Monday, Joey Logano and Team Penske was honored by the mayor of Mooresville, NC for winning NASCAR Cup Series championships. During the ceremony, Logano took back his comments after North Wilkesboro.
“When I went back and re-watched it, I was like, that wasn’t as bad as I thought it was,” Logano told NBC Sports. “If he did that the first time he got to me, I’d be like, ‘Dude, why would you do that?’ “
“But he made solid attempts to pass me. I ran him all up and down the racetrack. So I opened the door. Like at that point, I opened the door. I had to do that to try to maintain the lead.”
“But it also to me, it was like, OK, well, if you’re willing to do that, you should be able to move that person up the racetrack. Then I should have been able to get back at him.”
“I set the tone that we’re going to race like assholes. It’s OK that he did that to me. But in the moment you’re just pissed, right? You’re just like, ‘He ran me up the track.’ Then when I watched it, I was like, ‘Nah, it’s probably warranted.’ “
“So, I shouldn’t have said that. You’re mad. It is what it is. He knocked me up and then moved me up. Would I have done the same? Probably. Especially after someone ran me all over the racetrack like I did, I probably would have done the same.
“I’m a really bad loser. I’m a sore loser. I can’t help it. It is who I am, but I think that’s also what makes us winners.”
