NASCAR has issued a penalty ahead NASCAR Cup Series qualifying
This weekend, NASCAR is on the road course of Watkins Glen International. Today, the field is on-track for practice and qualifying ahead of Sunday’s race.
Before teams are allowed on the track, they must pass NASCAR inspection. This morning, there were issues in NASCAR tech inspection.
Katherine Legge’s team was unable to get their car passed tech on their second attempt. NASCAR has issued a penalty.
The car chief has been ejected from the speedway. Additionally, they will lose pit selection.
Live Fast Motorsports was able to get the car through tech on the third attempt, avoiding further penalties.

The following includes various levels of inspection penalties:
1 Failure
No Penalty
2 Failures
Crew member of NASCAR’s choosing ejected. Additionally, the team loses pit selection.
3 Failures
Not permitted to qualify plus above penalty. They also have to serve a pass-through penalty at the start of the race.
