Kevin Harvick had a heated radio exchange at COTA

“Just don’t f****** say it right now. Just shut the f*** up.”

Last week, NASCAR raced at Circuit of the Americas. The track is a 3.426-mile road course stretching 20 turns.

47-year-old Kevin Harvick is in his last season of full-time NASCAR Cup Series racing. After 23 years at the Cup level, the driver of the No. 4 for Stewart-Haas Racing will retire at the end of the season.

Kevin Harvick will retire following the 2023 NASCAR season

In stage three at COTA, many drivers were running short on fuel. The race was becoming a fuel millage race.

According to the #4 pit box, they had more fuel than most of the leaders. And they were in a position to capitalize. As most of the field was saving fuel, Harvick needed to go.

A caution ended up changing the whole strategy. Instead, the entire field pitted and the race then went into triple-overtime, ending the race in chaos.

However, before that, the No. 4 team had a heated radio exchange about speed while most of the field was short on fuel…

Rodney Childers (#4 Crew Chief): “The #22 will not make it for sure. We were the best one.”

Tim Fedewa (#4 Spotter): “Can’t help it. We’re getting passed.”

Rodney Childers (#4 Crew Chief): “That’s what I’m trying to get at, we got to go.”

Kevin Harvick: “What the f*** you want me to do? I’m going as fast as I can.”

Rodney Childers (#4 Crew Chief): “I don’t know how I can be more clear.”

Harvick: “Just don’t f****** say it right now. Just shut the f*** up.”
