The national dirt late model tour heads to North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee – 3 big shows
BATAVIA, OH (July 5, 2017) – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will tackle three different race tracks in three different states in the week ahead. With over $130,000 in prize money up for grabs, the weekend is sure to provide exciting, door-to-door racing action, lap after lap, as the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battle a strong contingent of local and regional standouts.
The action kicks off on Thursday, July 6th at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, N.C. The Dunn Benson Ford Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial – presented by Campbell University will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
The night will also feature: Fayetteville Motor Speedway Late Models, Modifieds, Super Streets, Pure Stocks, and U-Car divisions.
Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C. will host the 19th Annual Grassy Smith Memorial on Friday, July 7th. The late Clarence “Grassy” Smith is known throughout the stock car racing industry for his contributions to motorsports and his keen engine building skills. The event will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
The SECA Late Models, Limited Sportsman, Stock 4, and Renegades will serve as support divisions at Cherokee Speedway.
Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN will cap off the blockbuster weekend on Saturday, July 8th with the 4th Annual Mountain Moonshine Classic. The action-packed event will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 60-lap, $12,000-to-win main event.
The Sportsman Late Model division will compete for $1,200-to-win, while the Classic Cars will chase an $1,000 top prize.
