Darlington Raceway results for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race on September 1, 2018
Today, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will drop the green flag on the throwback weekend at Darlington Raceway. The 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval is located in Darlington, South Carolina.

Ross Chastain and Christopher Bell will lead the field to the green flag. Chastain is running a one-off event with Chip Ganassi Racing this weekend.
Stage 1
Darlington Raceway
Laps: 45
Green flag, Chastain leads on the outside lane into turn 1. Bell falls to third and Hemric followed Chastain by on the outside off turn two. Bell works back around him quickly to reclaim 2nd.
Lap 2, big crash! Austin Cindric is around off the corner. Ryan Truex tried to slide in behind him and misjudged the gap between the bumpers. Cindric was running 24th and is on the bubble for a playoff spot. Cindric radio as he beats on the steering wheel: “Come on!”
“I can almost cry. My last race with this team. I hate it for the #60 guys,” Austin Cindric tells NBC Sports while fighting back tears.
Green, this time Bell noses ahead on the bottom. They run side by side through turn 1. Chastain powers by on the outside off turn 2.
Lap 20, Christopher Bell has run down the leader. He’s looking for a way by on the inside. Ross Chastain moves high, he begins to open the gap back up. Reddick is looking to make it a three car battle for the lead.
Lap 28, Bell is starting to lose the tires. He’s been running on the rear bumper of Chastain for 10 laps. Bell just lost the rear end off turn 4, inches from the wall. He lost a few car lengths as he collected it.
Lap 31, Chastain is running on the apron to get by lap cars. He’s through and Bell gets held up far worse off turn two.
4 to go in stage 1, Chastain leads Bell by a full second. Kevin Harvick has moved into 3rd, he’s running them both down.

Stage 2

Laps: 45
The field heads for the pit lane. Chastain was a half second slower then Harvick in his pit box, he noses ahead at pit exit by a foot. Hamlin has removed equipment from the pit box. A lug wrench is stuck on the right side, he’ll serve a penalty. Elliott Sadler will also serve a penalty.
Green, Harvick has a push from Hemric on the bottom. Harvick clears him into turn 1. He slides up the hill and takes the high side groove away. Harvick leads off turn two.
Lap 55, Hemric is looking for 3rd from Bell. Trouble! Bell gets sideways on the high side of turn 4. The rear end steps out and the front end comes down the hill into Hemric to avoid the wall. Bell makes heavy contact with the left rear of Hemric as he was moving by on the inside.
That contract straightened Bell out and kept him from looping it around. However, he’s got bigger problems, heavy tire smoke. Bell heads to the pit lane under green.
Lap 65, the caution is out. Bell lost another tire and tagged the wall. Bell heads back to the pit lane as does Hemric.
Green, Chastain gets the jump on the bottom. Chastain takes the lead into turn 1, he slides to the top and takes the preferred groove away.
Lap 77, Brandon Jones is around off turn two. He looped it on his own. The caution is out.
Green, Chastain leads on the inside. Brad Keselowski follows him through as Harvick spins his tires on the outside lane.
Final lap in stage 2, Chastain leads Keselowski by five car lengths. Chastain sweeps stage one and now stage two at Darlington Raceway!

Stage 3

The field hits the pit lane. Ross Chastain is first in and first off.
Green, Chastain gets a huge push from Justin Allgaier on the outside lane. The rear end steps out and Keselowski leads by a few feet on the bottom into turn 1. Keselowski is nearly clear but Chastain is hanging on his right rear. Chastain powers by off turn two to hold the lead.
Lap 99, Keselowski is all over Chastain for the lead. Harvick is directly behind both of them, three cars under a blanket.
44 to go, Keselowski is all over the back bumper of Chastain in turn 1. The back bumper steps out, he wiggles, aero loose. Keselowski looks to the inside off turn two.
Keselowski slides him into turn 3, he clears him by 5 car lengths. Chastain is on the brakes as usual, he cuts off the top and crosses Keselowski on the exit, Chastain retakes the lead off turn 4. Harvick moves to 2nd.
Lap 111, Harvick looks to the inside of Chastain into turn 1. There’s a lap car ahead on the outside lane. Chastain looks to the middle, they run 3 wide. Chastain is on the right rear of Harvick. Harvick doesn’t lift on the bottom. Harvick gets loose on the bottom!
Harvick is sideways off turn two. He clips Chastain and puts him in the wall. They both bounce off the wall!
Chastain bounces off the safer barrier, he comes down the hill and intentionally spins Harvick in front of the field. Heavy damage for both cars.
Harvick heads to the garage. He makes a stop in the pit box for Chastain before he heads to the infield. With the box box cleared, Chastain heads to the pit road.
Green, Brad Keselowski leads on the outside lane.
15 to go, Keselowski leads Custer and Hamlin.
10 to go, Hamlin scraps the wall! He’s still rolling but he’s lost a big of ground.
