The hauler broke down in Texas on the way to the championship finale at Phoenix Raceway in Arizona
This weekend, NASCAR rolls into Phoenix Raceway. Four drivers in each of the three national series are in a battle for the championship.
It has been reported that one of the four NASCAR Xfinity Series teams are having some issues getting to the Arizona race track after leaving their North Carolina shop. Daniel Hemric’s No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing hauler broke down in Texas on the way to the track.
The primary car has been unloaded onto another hauler. It appears the backup car has not been unloaded. The new transport hauler is expected to make it to the track on Friday afternoon.
The car will make the race on time. However, a rare Friday practice round is scheduled for Friday afternoon. It remains unclear if the car will arrive in time for practice.
The usual pit boxes and tools were not moved to the other hauler. Instead, the team will utilize the items from the Joe Gibbs Racing ARCA hauler.
The team has addressed the report of the hauler issues. They responded with a gif from ‘The Office’ which is shown below.
“Nope. Don’t like that,” the Michael Scott gif says.
Hemric is set to battle for a championship. The other drivers in the running are Noah Gragson, Austin Cindric and AJ Allmendinger.
Hemric has four years of experience in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Three of those years he ran full-time. In all three, he’s been in the running for a championship.
Despite the consistency, Hemric has yet to win a race at the Xfinity level. He has 44 top-5s in 119 starts.
