Chase Elliott joins Kyle Larson in night two at Placerville Speedway
Tonight, it’s night two of a three-night show in Placerville, California. The 1/4-mile bullring continues with the famed Hangtown 100 featuring the USAC National Midget Series

Race Payout: Tonight, they’ll battle for $5,000. Points are collected over the three day show. The highest point earner wins $12,000. Additionally, Saturday’s feature finale pays $20,000 to win.
Chase Elliott was scheduled to race last night. However, he was forced to miss the show due to NASCAR Next Gen testing in North Carolina. Tonight, he’s in the pit area at the California dirt track and ready for a night of dirt racing.
Rain rolled into the area on Friday afternoon. That pushed back the start of the event but the feature is set to roll before 11pm local time.
Zeb Wise and Chris Windom line up on the front row. 30 laps of USAC National Midget racing are up next. $5,000 is on the line.
Main Event
Report – Friday
Green flag, Wise bobbles on the inside at the launch. Windom is clear into turn one. Bryant Wiedeman takes over 2nd.
Lap 3, Maria Cofer is upside down, red flag. She climbs from the car on her own. She heads to the pit area and back out!
Green, Windom leads into turn one. Axsom knocks the cushion but bobbles and can’t take 2nd away.
Lap 6, Chris Windom jumps the cushion and locks up into turn one! The caution is out. He gets a push and joins the tail of the field.
Green, Wiedeman leads into turn one.
Lap 9, Axsom heads back to the cushion. He pulls even with Wiedeman and clears him on the outside!
Lap 12, Larson slides Wise for 3rd in turn three.
Halfway
Lap 16, Thomas Meseraull stalls and the caution is out.
Green, Axsom leads into turn one. Larson knocks the cushion and nearly pulls to the right rear of Wiedeman into turn one. Larson slides Wiedeman for 2nd in turn three! Shane Golobic spins behind them, caution.

Lap 17, Larson slides Wiedeman for 2nd into turn three.
Lap 19, Larson looks inside of Axsom in the battle for the lead but he can;t complete the pass.
Lap 20, Larson runs the cushion in turn one. He has a run off the corner but can’t complete the pass.
Lap 22, Larson runs the edge of the track in turn one. He has a bigger run this time. Larson drives it deep to the bottom in turn three. They run side by side in turn four, Axsom bobbles and Larson takes the lead!
4 to go, Chase Johnson spins, caution.
Green, Larson leads Axsom into turn one.
2 to go, Cannon McIntosh is upside down off turn four and the red flag is out. He climbs from the car on his own.
Green, Larson leads Axsom into turn one.
1 to go, Larson leads by 5 car lengths at the line.
