NASCAR starting positions for Darlington Raceway

Just ahead of qualifying, the teams were split into two groups for a brief practice run. Austin Cindric was fastest overall.

Kevin Harvick suffered a flat left rear during practice. He parked on the track, hoping officials would allow him to change the tire on the track. They didn’t and instead Harvick drove back to the pits, tearing up the rear defuser along the way. The team missed qualifying as they made repairs.
Chase Elliott also lost a left rear tire in practice. Unfortunately, he slammed the wall and missed qualifying as well.
The field was split into two groups for qualifying. The top 5 from each group advance into round two and made a run for pole.

Darlington Qualifying (Group B – Top 5) : 1. Kyle Larson (28.736); 2. Martin Truex Jr (28.838); 3. Joey Logano (28.991); 4. Ryan Blaney (29.057); 5. Kurt Busch (29.108);
In the final round of qualifying, Joey Logano topped the sheets with a 28.805 and he’ll start from the pole position with Kyle Larson completing the front row.
