Lucas Oil Speedway dirt track sponsors Jordan Anderson in NASCAR Truck Series

Lucas Oil Speedway supports “grassroots” racer Anderson in NASCAR Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway

WHEATLAND, Missouri (May 10, 2018) – Lucas Oil Speedway fans will have a connection to Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series 37 Kind Days 250 at Kansas Speedway.

The Lucas Oil Speedway logo will be displayed on the deck lid and both doors of Jordan Anderson’s No. 3 truck. Anderson, a 27-year-old from Forest Acres, S.C., also is sponsored by Bommarito Automotive Group from Ellisville, Missouri.

“We just want to show some support for a true grassroots racer like Jordan and help bring some exposure to the speedway,” said Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson. “We’re happy to support Jordan this weekend and wish him the best.”

Anderson is 16th overall in NASCAR Truck Series points through five races in 2018 after a 16th-place finish last weekend in the JEGS 200 at Dover International Speedway. He posted a career-best eighth-place finish in the season-opening Nextera Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International speedway.

“The Lucas family does a lot for racing and the sport in general and they’ve been with me since 2016,” Anderson said Thursday after arriving at Kansas Speedway. “I know the involvement that the Lucas family has done with the racetrack (in Wheatland) and so much of what we do as a team, it’s all about grassroots racing.

“When Dan first called me and to be able to partner up with him and Lucas Oil Speedway, it means so much. Just having the opportunity to represent all the grassroots, short-track racers out here in NASCAR country at Kansas this weekend is pretty awesome.

“This area of the country is kind of like a second home to us. Ever since 2016, the same season Lucas Oil got involved, we got a relationship going with the Bommarito Automotive group out of St. Louis. There are a lot of fans out here in the Midwest that support us and follow our journey. It’s special seeing everybody that follows us on Twitter and Facebook who keep up with us.”

As the owner-driver of his team, Anderson told NASCAR.com earlier this year that he is hands-on in nearly every aspect of the team’s operations, including driving the team’s transporter to and from races. He said that’s simply a part of his dirt-track roots that he grew up on.

“So many of the adventures and stories and things that we’ve been able to do have come from being on the road,” Anderson told NASCAR.com. “The average person may say, ‘That’s crazy. I wouldn’t want to do that,’ but we love it and there’s times where it gets long, but we all have a good time and make the most of it.

“I think that’s been our story. The local Late Model racer that does all he can to get to the track every week or the guy who races dirt Late Models – those are the real racers and fans that our sport’s built on, and I think those guys can relate to what we’re doing.”

Tickets for the 37 Kinds Days 250 can be purchased online or in person at the speedway box office. Call 1-866-460-7223. for more information.
