Ward Burton: “If I was in the 22 I would have done the exact same thing. He didn’t wreck him he moved him.”
Martinsville Speedway put on a show once again. A bump and run with a door banging finish has the fan base excited as the series heads to Texas Motor Speedway. The NASCAR community is fired up after Sunday nights show.
Joey Logano put the bumper to Martin Truex Jr on the final corner of the race. He took the lead and will transfer to the championship round at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Kyle Busch once said, “If you don’t like that kind of racing, don’t even watch.” But, he doesn’t feel the same in this situation.
NASCAR reacts to Martinsville Speedway
Kyle Busch: “Totally different circumstances. Come on man!! I got roughed up by 42, I roughed him back. Martin passed the 22 clean, got flat ran over the last corner. Smarten up!”
“He got chickenshitted,” Busch refers to the move by Logano on Truex.
Ward Burton: “The race for the win yesterday if I was in the 22 I would have done the exact same thing. He didn’t wreck him he moved him it’s a deference.”
— Jeb Burton: “I would have moved you to win.”
Jeb Burton: “Lol! He moved him a little for the win give me a break. Stop crying.”
Furniture Row Racing: “Victory in Sight, Martin Truex Jr Gets Taken Out Near Finish Line at Martinsville Speedway.”
Michael Waltrip: “I’ve never seen a more determined display of driving racing for the win. Martin Truex Jr was awesome. Great job bud.”
“I’ve been watching NASCAR closely since 1973. 45 years. And drove it for 35 years. That was among the best 30 lap runs to the checkered I’ve EVER seen. NASCAR put winning a championship on winning in the playoffs. Drivers- “we got this” Awesome racing. Awesome entertainment”
Corey LaJoie: “Yes, Martin raced Joey clean no question about it. But Joey just put his team in a position to win the championship and that’s what he gets paid to do.”
Casey LaJoie: “This is why I love short track racing. This is why NASCAR needs more short track races than 1.5 mile tracks. Drivers get mad, fans get mad, the tempers, intensity, and passion all builds at once. Less downforce, more horsepower. Not sure why it’s moving farther away from this.”
Cole Pearn: “3 words come to mind, you can guess them. Proud of the effort and lack of quit in Furniture Row Racing.”
Noah Gragson: “If you’re talking about it, it’s working.”
Austin Cindric: “What an incredible show. Doesn’t matter who you’re rooting for.”
Dale Earnhardt Jr: “That post race interview by Martin Truex Jr definitely top 5 all time.”
Kenny Wallace: “Fans ask for NASCAR drivers to race “side by side FOR THE WIN”.. And they just did.. My heart was pounding.. GREAT RACE!!..”
We’ll just let them do the talking.
