Banging doors for $53,000 to win at I-80 Speedway!

Tonight, it’s the final night at I-80 Speedway for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The 4/10-mile oval is set for a 80-lap main event that will pay $53,000 to the dirt late model winner.

Two B Mains and a feature race are on the ticket tonight. Lineups were set following two rounds of heat races last night.

B Main 1 – Report

Nick Deal and Josh Richards set row one in the first b main of the night. Green, Richards leads into turn one. Bronson exits turn two in 2nd.

Lap 4, Bronson has closed to the rear bumper of the leader. Richards picks up the pace and opens the cap to two car lengths. Each of them run the middle of the track in turns one and two.

Lap 8, car around in turn four and the caution is out.

Green, spin in turn three and the yellow is back out.

Green, Bronson drives it hard to the bottom in turn one. He’s clear but Richards crosses under him off turn two to retake the lead.

Dale McDowell has joined them at the front. McDowell looks under Bronson for 2nd and takes the spot.

3 to go, McDowell is on the bumper of the leader. He rolls the bottom and pulls to his number but Richards holds him off with the momentum off the top.

Blown tire at the back. Debris is scattered on the track and the caution is out. 2 laps to go, single file restart.

Green, Richards leads by two car lengths into turn one. McDowell is under fire from Bronson.

Josh Richards wins the first B Main of the night. Bronson and McDowell were door to door at the line, Bronson by a nose.

B Main 2 – Report

Shanon Buckingham and Ricky Weiss lead them to the flag stand for the final b main of the night. Green, Weiss wins the race into turn one.

Lap 3, Billy Moyer Jr climbs to 2nd. Buckingham jumps the cushion behind him abd drops two spots.

5 to go, Weiss opens the gap to Moyer. Buckingham is working the bottom on Babb for 4th. He completes the pass into turn three for the final transfer

Main Event – Report

Mason Zeigler and Tim McCreadie will set the front row for tonight’s feature event.

$53,000 is on the line for the race winner. 80 laps of dirt late model racing is up next.

The field lines up in a four wide salute for the fans at the Nebraska dirt track. Fireworks blast and we’re off.

Green flag, several cars stack up in the back. Richards and Madden each collect minor left rear damage. The yellow is out, complete restart.

Green, Zeigler noses ahead on the bottom into turn one. McCreadie knocks on the cushion and wins the race off the top with the momentum.

Lap 3, slow car down the back and the caution is out.

Green, McCreadie leads. Owens claims 2nd but Zeigler grabs it right back.

Four cars battle for 3rd. Pierce drives it way deep in turn one. He loses all his momentum and they all pass him right back. Owens holds 3rd.

69 to go, Pierce to 3rd. He’s glued to the wall, flying around the top. Trouble in turn four and the caution is out.

Green, McCreadie leads. Zeigler holds 2nd after a fight with Pierce.

63 to go, slow car and the caution is out.

Green, McCreadie leads. Pierce slides Zeigler for 2nd. He slid just ahead of his nose but he has to slow down to avoid the wall off turn two. Davenport looks to the inside if Pierce in turn three, Zeigler cuts to the middle and retakes 2nd.

Zeigler loses several spots as Davenport moves to 2nd

55 to go, debris in turn four and the yellow is out.

Green, McCreadie leads. Pierce and Davenport run side by side for 2nd. Pierce takes the spot.

50 to go, Pierce is on the bumper of the race leader. Pierce throws it to the bottom in turn three. He’s barely clear off turn four. McCreadie gets into his right rear as they make contact.

The yellow is out for a slow car in turn two. McCreadie has heavy left front damage. McCreadie and Pierce pull side by side to throw sign language under the yellow. They make more contact as McCreadie turns into him in turn four.

Green, Madden moves to 2nd. He’s on the bumper of McCreadie into turn three. Madden to the bottom and clear. Madden takes the lead.

42 to go, Pierce is flying around the top once again. He’s run down Madden. The leader heads to the bottom in turn three and Pierce is on the gas around the top. They run even off turn four and Pierce wins the race into turn one.

Tyler Erb is slow and the caution is back out.

Green, McCreadie cuts to the bottom in turn one. He moves to the lead. Pierce fights back around the top. Pierce retakes the lead into turn three.

38 to go, Hudson O’Neal has a flat and the yellow is back out.

Green, Pierce holds the lead. Madden and McCreadie fight for 2nd. Zeigler has a flat and the caution is out.

Green, McCreadie has a run. He looks to the inside in turn one. They fight for space off turn two and McCreadie puts him in the wall! Pierce falls to 4th.

Chris Madden is on the bumper of McCreadie for the lead. He takes the lead. Bloomquist moves to 2nd.

28 to go, Bloomquist is closing on the leader. Pierce is all over the bumper of Bloomquist for 2nd. Pierce takes 2nd away on the outside.

21 to go, Pierce is on the bumper of the leader. Madden and Pierce head for the top in turn three. Madden cuts it off the bottom to diamond the exit. Pierce stays on the cushion and works to his right rear off the corner. They run even off turn four and Pierce completes the pass in turn one.

20 to go, the caution is back out. Moyer Jr went up in smoke heading into turn three!

Green, slow restart again for Pierce. Madden works to his outside and takes the lead at the flag stand.

15 to go, Madden leads but Pierce is all over him once again. They both head for the top in turn three. Madden leaves just enough room for Pierce to for between him and the wall, he fills that hole. Pierce leads off turn four!

8 to go, Pierce leads by 10 car lengths. He remains against the cushion as sparks fly off the right rear from light contact with the wall.
