Night two of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in Florida brings a photo finish
Tonight, they’ll re-rack the field for another night in Barberville, Florida. It’s night two featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on the half-mile dirt track of Volusia Speedway Park.

Three inches of rain hit the track earlier in the week. It soaked the new dirt that was put down in January. The track has been heavy to say the least.
Last night, Kyle Larson and Donny Schatz put on a show. Slider after slider between them.
Fellow NASCAR driver Alex Bowman is making his World of Outlaws debut this week after running just 5 sprint car races last year. He made the show last night and he’s in the show once again tonight.
David Gravel and Sheldon Haudenschild set the front row for the main event. 30 laps of dirt track racing are up next…
Main Event
Report
Green flag, they run near even into turn one. Gravel noses ahead on the bottom but Haudenschild has a run on the cushion. Gravel wins the race into turn three.
Lap 5, Donny Schatz has gained six positions and he’s up to 6th.
Lap 7, Gravel has caught the tail of the field. Haudenschild trails by 4 car lengths. Both run on the heavy cushion.
Lap 9, Brad Sweet looks inside of Haudenschild for 2nd. They fight for space off turn four and nearly bang wheels as they run three wide with lap traffic. Haudenschild holds 2nd for now.
Lap 15, Giovanni Scelzi slows and the caution is out. Kyle Larson heads for the pit lane with a flat left rear.
Green, Gravel leads Haudenschild into turn one. Haudenschild heads for the cushion and has a run off turn two but Gravel holds him off into turn three.
Sweet takes 2nd away.
10 to go
10 to go, Gravel leads Sweet by 1 second. Sweet is closing fast!
9 to go, Gravel slides off turn two, Sweet closes right to his bumper and drives by on the inside. Sweet leads into turn three.
7 to go, Larson has climbed to 12th after a trip to the pit lane before the last restart.
5 to go, Sweet gets trapped behind a lap car in turn four. Haudenschild has a run and he drives it deep to the inside in turn one. They fight for space, Haudenschild to the lead.
Sweet fights back to reclaim the lead! Gravel is closing on both of them.
They split Sweet, Gravel to the lead, Haudenschild to 2nd.
1 to go, Gravel leads but Haudenschild drives it deep to the inside in turn three. He pulls even and they run side by side to the line. Gravel bobbles through a rut off turn four and nearly tags the outside wall off the corner.
Sheldon Haudenschild wins by just a foot at Volusia Speedway Park!
