Rowdy Energy closing shortly after ERC Violation Notice

NASCAR driver Kyle Busch co-owned Rowdy Energy

Rowdy Energy was formed with co-owners Kyle Busch and Jeff Church. The company is based in Del Mar, California.

Hear from Kyle Busch below.

Rowdy Energy was created as Busch was looking for a healthier energy drink. ‘Rowdy’ is Kyle Busch’s nickname during his day-job as a NASCAR Cup Series driver.

Since 2020, the company has served as a strong supporter of auto racing. They were once the primary sponsor of Rico Abreu’s dirt sprint car program. The company has also been the naming sponsor for many asphalt late model events.

Now, Rowdy Energy is set to close their doors.

Kyle Busch Statement

“In 2020, I wanted to create a better-for-you, all natural energy drink that had great taste, so I launched Rowdy Energy,” Kyle Busch opened via social media.

“I’m really proud of our efforts and appreciate all the investors that stood behind me to help make my dream become a reality. We had quick success getting into 50,000 doors in just two short years thanks in part to the relationships I’ve been lucky enough to build during my years in racing.”

“From its start, there’s no doubt that the popularity and success of Rowdy Energy was due to each of you! I cannot thank you enough for your support – from posts on social media… to telling me in-person… to seeing it in your hands at racetracks – that has meant a lot to me and I’m forever grateful.”

“But unfortunately, I’m here to say that Rowdy Energy will be ceasing operations and closing its doors in the coming weeks. Like many other new consumer brands, the headwinds have proven to be too strong and it makes the most sense to end the journey so I can remain focused on my family and my racing career.”

He concluded, “While the news is sad to announce, I’ll always appreciate what I learned along the way. It was a fun rise and only fueled my passion for better-for-you energy drinks!”

On December 5, 2023 Environmental Research Center, Inc. published a notice of violation of California Health & safety against Rowdy Energy. It filing is a 60-day notice.

I understand that “reasonable and meritorious case for the private action” means that the information provides a credible basis that all elements of the plaintiff’s case can be established and that the information did not prove that the alleged Violator will be able to establish any of the affirmative defenses set forth in the statute.”

Kyle Busch Motorsports also closed

The closing of Rowdy Energy shortly followed the sale of Kyle Busch Motorsports. In September 2023, Busch announced the team would be sold to Spire Motorsports.
