Rocket1 Racing has signed Tim McCreadie for the 2024 dirt late model season after Hudson O’Neal’s departure
Last week, it was announced that Hudson O’Neal had departed the Rocket 1 Racing No. 1 car. The dirt late model is fielded by Mark Richards Racing, the Rocket Chassis house car.
Days ago, Tim McCreadie also announced that he was departing Paylor Motorsports. McCreadie is the former driver of the Longhorn Chassis house car.
The Longhorn house car picked up a new driver, Brandon Sheppard for the 2024 season. Sheppard was the former driver of the No. 1 Rocket Chassis house car.
Now, the musical chairs have continued. Tim McCreadie has signed with Rocket 1 Racing and will be the new driver of the Rocket Chassis house car.
The 49-year-old will make his debut in the No. 1 this weekend at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio, and Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway. The driver will be in search of the his third Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series title in 2024.

“We’re excited to have Tim McCreadie,” team co-owner Mark Richards said in a team release.
“He’s got years of experience, he’s a Lucas Oil and World of Outlaws champion, he’s won the World 100 and a lot of other races. We chose Tim McCreadie because he’s the guy that we need right now — somebody with experience and the tenacity to be able to carry the legacy of Rocket1 on.”
“Hudson O’Neal is one of the top drivers in the country and I feel like his time with Rocket1 accelerated his climb to get there,” he added.
“Hudson will always be part of Rocket1’s history and we were proud to have him on board. We can’t say enough about how great a guy Hudson is, we wish him the best in the future, and I’m sure he will have continued success in his career.”
