Drivers at Joe Gibbs Racing are now allowed to run dirt racing events outside of NASCAR
Joe Gibbs Racing fields four cars in the NASCAR Cup Series. Following the retirement of Martin Truex Jr, the team lineup consists of Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin, Ty Gibbs and Chase Briscoe.
Specifically for Christopher Bell and Chase Briscoe, they are big into heading to the dirt track. However, Joe Gibbs Racing previously had a ban on their drivers racing dirt track events.
Now, that ban has finally been lifted.
In 2021, Kyle Larson dominated the NASCAR season. At the same time, he was also dominating in a dirt sprint car, midget, late model and anything else that features a steering wheel.
Since then, NASCAR team owners have opened their eyes to drivers running races outside of the NASCAR bubble.

Joe Gibbs comments
“We sort of talked things over to come up with a process by which they can request to run certain races,” Joe Gibbs told The Athletic.
He added, “If they get approval from everyone they need on our competition side, then they are free to run the race. That includes dirt, but also potentially other forms of racing.”
Christopher Bell comments
“I was definitely caught off guard by the change of policy,” Bell told The Athletic. “I was super shocked, but with Chase coming on board and Ty growing an interest in dirt racing, it’s nice we have the majority of our team aligned with it now.”
Bell later added via X, “See you guys at a dirt track soon.”
