The Daytona 500 pole sitter was going to bump the limo carrying Donald Trump ahead of the green flag at Daytona International Speedway
Today, Daytona International Speedway is hosting the Daytona 500. The season-opener for the NASCAR Cup Series is the biggest stock car race of the year.
And then it got bigger. United States president Donald Trump landed in Daytona Beach, Florida via Air Force 1.
Trump stepped off the plane and into The Beast limo. The Presidential Limo is estimated from 15,000-20,000 pounds.
And similar to Trump’s last Daytona visit, the limo turned laps around Daytona International Speedway. The President led the field, just ahead of the green flag for the Daytona 500.
In NASCAR, it’s not uncommon for the pole sitter to bump the pace car before the start of the race. It’s borderline a tradition.
Daytona 500 pole sitter Chase Briscoe was going to take it up a notch…

Chase Briscoe said he was going to bump The Beast
“Yeah, it’s cool. It’s a special opportunity no matter who the President is,” Chase Briscoe told Fox Sports.
“When he comes to your event, it’s a big deal.”
“As the pole sitter, you usually always go bump the pace car. I joked around that I was going to do it with The Beast. I got told I could not even get close to that thing.”
“Every time you roll around this place, it’s always special. But, yeah when the President’s here it’s an even bigger deal.”
The race soon went into a weather delay.
