Watch the Kyle Larson vs David Gravel video below.
With 16 to go in the 30 lap race, Kyle Larson threw a slider on David Gravel for 3rd. Two laps later, Gravel returned with a slider of his own.
With 2 laps to go, Larson was back on the bumper of Gravel. Larson through a slider into turn one. Gravel slid him right back into turn three. Larson was forced to check up and he crossed under him off turn four.
As they took the white flag, Larson went for the cushion into turn one. He built momentum and had a run off turn two. Gravel moved to the bottom into turn three and attempted to block a move.
Larson forced it all the way to the inside wall. He tossed a slider back at Gravel in the final corner. Larson narrowly cleared Gravel with the move.
Larson crossed the line in 3rd. But, the argument for position wasn’t over.
After the finish, Gravel stayed in the gas and pulled even with Larson. Gravel moved up the track and clipped Larson in the rear bumper, sending Larson for a spin off turn two.
Larson was stalled and pointed backwards on the track. Gravel went around a full lap and then pulled right next to Larson. The two drivers had a conversation from their cockpit.
Both drivers were called to the World of Outlaws hauler after the race.

Kyle Larson comments
“It was good,” Larson told DirtVision of the battle.
“Two hard racing drivers right there, so I hope the fans enjoyed it. I know it was tight from my seat. Sometimes you come out ahead and sometimes you don’t. I got in front of him and beat him once again, last lap.”
Larson added via social media while reacting to a photo of them both parked on track after the race:
“Just @DavidGravel and I ironing out the details of his 2027 High Limit contract tonight on the backstretch at Eldora. Still negotiating terms… mainly how he’ll handle racing against the best every night. @HighLimitRacing”

David Gravel comments
“He’s been running me the same way for the last couple weeks, and it started at Huset’s,” Gravel said.
“He’s got a vendetta towards us. We can keep playing that game, but eventually it’s not going to be good. He should be a professional. He thinks our team is not professional, and he should be the ultimate professional. He’s not driving like that on the racetrack. We’re friends, but I guess right now we’re not.”
“It was all the stuff before that,. He did it to me twice in that feature before that. I gave it back to him once and then he gave it back to me again,” Gravel stated of the last lap slider Larson pulled.
“Him running 3rd of 4th this race doesn’t change his life. He doesn’t do this for a living. He’s gonna remember that and we’ll see.”
Gravel also responded to Larson’s social media post:
“Two of your top drivers got hurt this week maybe that would open your eyes on how to race with respect. If you and all your fans think that how you race in a sprint car is racing with respect you are fooled. I will take all the smoke. As far as the contract better make it good.”

Gravel added more details:
“Running 3rd or 4th doesn’t change my life or his life. He has a vendetta against my crew chief. Risking crashing 1 or 2 cars for a position on the track with uncalled slide jobs that every time require to slam on the brakes or crash. Enough is enough.”
Both drivers will return to Eldora Speedway on Saturday night.
