Knoxville offered a reward after fan tossed a can on the track following Kyle Larson’s win (Video)

Kyle Larson drove to victory lane on Thursday in the Knoxville Nationals

The Knoxville Nationals is the biggest dirt sprint car race of the season. Saturday’s feature winner will walk away with a check for $195,000.

On Thursday night, drivers raced for $12,000 to win. More importantly, points earned throughout the night will set the lineups for Friday and Saturday.

NASCAR Cup Series driver was a part of the show on Thursday. He threw slider, grabbed the lead and drove to the finish line.

Moments after crossing the finish line, a fan tossed a can from deep in the grandstands. That can went over the fence and onto the racetrack.

The can was thrown right at the start/finish line. Drivers were still full throttle as they crossed the line.

Larson picked up the race win. He crossed the scales and turned into victory lane.

By that time, officials had already offered a $500 reward for the person who points out the thrower of the can. This took just minutes.

Moments later, the sheriff was in the grandstands. And it appears the fan has been caught.

This isn’t the first time a fan has thrown a can onto a racetrack. It happened just weeks ago as Bubba Wallace was leading on the final lap.

However, this is the first time I’m hearing a reward. And, the fan appears to have been captured within seconds.

Props to the officials!
