Race Report
Green flag, Kirkwood gets the jump and he’s clear before turn one. Newgarden has a run off turn two and he looks to the outside in turn three. They nearly touch, Kirkwood holds him off.
Lap 19, Caio Collet is in the outside wall, caution.
Kirkwood leads the field to the pit lane. McLaughlin wins the race to the pit exit. Foster, Malukas and Lundgaard stay out.
Green, Foster leads off turn two. Malukas drives to the outside of Foster and he’s clear. McLaughlin has climbed to 2nd in a hurry on fresh tires.
Lap 61, Malukas pits from the lead under green. McLaughlin is handed the lead as he can go another 20 laps.
Lap 96, Malukas cycles back to the lead. McLaughlin now trails by 1.5 seconds.
Lap 116, Christian Rasmussen wiggles and tags the outside wall. No caution as he heads to the pit lane with damage.
Lap 121, Malukas pits as another cycle is set to begin.
Crash
Lap 123, Alexander Rossi slows into turn three and Scott Dixon drives into the back of him. The caution is out! McLaughlin and others dive for the pit lane under this caution.
Green, Palou leads McLaughlin and Kirkwood.
43 to go, Dennis Hauger spins and the caution is back out.
Kirkwood restarts 11th and McLaughlin 12th after they pitted just before the yellow flag.
Green, Palou leads Newgarden and Ericsson.
10 to go, Palou leads Newgarden by 0.4 seconds.
