Kyle Larson is heading to the Knoxville Nationals after the NASCAR race

Kyle Larson sprints from his car directly after the NASCAR race in Richmond, Virginia and hopes to make it to Knoxville, Iowa

This week, it’s the famed Knoxville Nationals. The World of Outlaws event pays $200,000 to the winner.

All week, it’s been talked about that Kyle Larson had a conflict with the event. Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series was expected to directly overlap with the Knoxville Nationals finale.

Despite that, NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Larson went to Knoxville for the preliminary night in his No. 57 sprint car. He won on Thursday night and grabbed the pole position for the big dirt sprint car race.

Again, he wasn’t expected to be able to make it for the finale.

However, Saturday’s finale at Knoxville Raceway has been delayed due to weather. The track has seen multiple rain showers throughout the day.

During the NASCAR race, Hendrick Motorsports made their driver aware of the situation…

No. 5 crew chief Cliff Daniels stated, “Knoxville has not even started hot laps yet. Big delay for the race. Don’t know if it’s tomorrow yet. But, they’re way behind just so you know.”

Larson responded, “Knoxville?”

Daniels added, “Yeah, we’re working on plans for ya.”

Larson responded, “Okay.”

The NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway concluded around 10:30pm ET. The track is located in Richmond, Virginia.
